Who we are

Soulful Stays is a trading name of JJW Properties and Investments Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 12632194), registered office The Paddock, Barmpton, Darlington, DL1 3JG. We are the data controller for information you send through this website. You can contact us at james@soulful-stays.co.uk.

What we collect

When you complete the enquiry form we collect your first and last name, email address, telephone number, your preferred timeframe and whatever you tell us about what you would like help with. We do not ask for payment details through this website.

North Star Community signup

When you request the 4 Fs Ideal Life Guide, we collect your first name, email address and a record of whether the guide email was delivered, so we can send you the guide you asked for. Joining the mailing list is optional: only if you tick the box do we also send the weekly North Star Note and invitations to North Star Live conversations, and we record when you gave that consent. Our lawful basis for mailing-list emails is your consent.

We keep your North Star signup information until you ask us to delete it. You have the absolute right to withdraw your consent at any time. Every mailing-list email includes an unsubscribe link; once you unsubscribe we stop sending you mailing-list emails unless you choose to join again. You can also unsubscribe by emailing james@soulful-stays.co.uk. Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of emails sent before withdrawal.

Why we use it and our lawful basis

• To respond to your enquiry, discuss dates and answer your questions. Our lawful basis is your consent, which you give when you submit the form, and our legitimate interest in replying to people who contact us.
• To take steps at your request before entering into a contract, if you decide to book.
• To keep basic records and meet our legal and accounting obligations.

We do not use your details for marketing unless you separately ask us to, and we do not sell or share your information with third parties for their own marketing.

Who can see your information

Your enquiry is stored in our secure website database and emailed to us so we can reply. Our website hosting, database and email providers process the data on our behalf under contract, and only for the purpose of running this service. We may disclose information where we are required to by law.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not lead to a booking are kept for up to 24 months and then deleted. If you book, we keep records relating to the booking for up to six years after the end of the relevant financial year, to meet legal and accounting requirements.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to ask for a copy of your data, to have inaccurate data corrected, to ask us to delete it, to restrict or object to how we use it, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time. Email james@soulful-stays.co.uk and we will respond within one month. If you are unhappy with our response you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Security and storage

Enquiry data is transmitted over an encrypted connection and stored in a secured database that is not publicly readable. Data is processed within the UK, the European Economic Area, or in countries with appropriate safeguards in place where our providers operate elsewhere.

Cookies

This website does not use advertising, analytics or other non-essential cookies, so no cookie banner is shown. Only cookies strictly necessary for the site to work and to protect the enquiry form from abuse may be used.
